Shearwater Peregrine

Post by ggora »

Hello,

I am trying to import my database from the latest Shearwater Cloud Desktop and keep getting an error on import:
SQLite error
no such table:dive_info

It recognizes the list of dives.

I know the Peregrine is new, but figured the DB would be the same.

Hello

Please make sure you're using the latest version 6.0.19. If it still does not work, send me the Shearwater logbook file which you're importing to info@divinglog.de

The Peregrine can be downloaded also directly with version 6.0.19. It would be great if you can send me an "Error Log" from a download so I can see everything works as it should. To do so, activate "Log Errors" in the download settings. Send me after downloading this file:

C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\Diving Log\DC_FAMILY_SHEARWATER_PETREL.txt

Kind regards,
Sven

Thank you, but what worked, the import or the download? Can you send me the error log from a Peregrine download?

I too am having issues with my Peregrine connecting.

I'm running the latest version of Diving Log ( 6.0.19 ), and my Peregrine has the latest Shearwater firmware ( v78/BT01 ).
I can select the Peregrine in the Downloader window, and my Win10 PC sees the Peregrine as an un-paired Bluetooth device.

When I select the device in the Bluetooth pop-up the downloader window pin wheels and basically hangs. My computer tries to connect for 3 minutes and times out. The Downloader window hangs for several more minutes ( not sure how long the time out is ).

More info, maybe too much: The Downloader works fine with my Mares Puck Pro ( USB / COM ) and my Peregrine downloads fine to the Shearwater Cloud software.

DC_FAMILY_SHEARWATER_PETREL is the title of the error log, below is the contents:

Any help is appreciated and I'd be glad to try anything you'd like and provide feedback.

Doug

Hi Doug

Please download this zip file and copy the content into the Diving Log 6.0 program folder, overwriting the existing file. Then pair the Peregrine in the Windows Bluetooth device settings and try to download again.

Please let me know if this works. I really need some feedback about this computer :)

Kind regards,
Sven

Not much change from what I can see. I copied the .dll in, gave it a try, then rebooted and tried again. I did notice I can force the Downloader to "give up" earlier by simply turning off the Bluetooth on my PC.

FWIW - I tried to pair the device to the PC in Win10 ( Settings - Bluetooth & other devices - Add Bluetooth or other device ) and it will not connect. No error, just says Connecting for a while and the asks me to try to connect again. Shearwater cloud connects no problem.

Thank you,
Doug

Try to uninstall Shearwater Cloud Desktop and see if it pairs in Windows. I heard from another user that this helped. Please note I'm leaving for a short vacation, I'll be back next weekend.

No change. I'll play around with it some more as time allows. I hope you can enjoy your time away.

Hi Doug, or anyone else reading this

Have you solved the issue with connecting the Peregrine? I just bought this computer, fully excited about the Bluetooth feature, but I can't connect it to the Desktop version nor to the Android app.

Thanks and best,
Magnus

Hi Magnus,

please try on Windows to download this zip file and copy the content into the Diving Log 6.0 program folder. This will allow you to download the dive computer unpaired, which I think is necessary for newer Shearwater computers. You can click directly on the "Download" button and it will search for unpaired devices as well.

Please let me know if that works.

Kind regards,
Sven

Hi Sven

I tried to apply your fix. Before, the downloader window froze, now it's just stuck looping the green bar (see attached screenshot). So, I stil can't connect my Peregrine. However, I now managed to successfully connect it to the Android App (I had to enable GPS/location service in addition to Bluetooth), so I can transfer to my phone and then sync via Google Drive.

Best, Magnus

Hi Magnus

Try to uninstall Shearwater Cloud Desktop temporarily, sometimes this helps. Try also to pair it in Windows Bluetooth settings, if you've not done it yet.

Yes, on Android GPS/Location is necessary for Bluetooth.

Kind regards,
Sven
